      • How to enable bridge mode?

        If you wish to use your own wireless router, please contact us so that we can enable bridge mode on the fiber modem.

        If your fiber modem has built‑in Wi‑Fi, we will disable its Wi‑Fi to ensure that the wireless signals do not interfere with the wireless signals from your own router.

        The WAN port on your own wireless router must be connected to the LAN port on the fiber modem that is configured in bridge mode.

        On Icotera fiber modems, LAN port 4 is used for bridge mode.

        On Zyxel fiber modems, LAN port 1 is used for bridge mode.

         

      • How do I select channels and content from Altibox?

        Altibox customers have the option to select channels and streaming services.

      • Which channels does Altibox provide?

      • How fast internet do I need?

        The speed you need depends on what you will use the internet for:
         

        Basic browsing

        If you only plan to read online newspapers, check Facebook, use online banking, write e-mails, or stream music/radio, the lowest available speed option will be sufficient.
         

        Gaming and video streaming

        If you plan to play/download online games or stream video, you will need faster internet.
        How fast your internet needs to be depends on how many people will be gaming or streaming at the same time.

        Here are some examples of how much internet speed is typically used when one device streams video at a given quality level:

      • What happens if I no longer want the fiber network?

        If you no longer wish to use the services provided through the fiber network (minimum an internet subscription), you must pay a disconnection fee (see prices og terms and conditions).

         

      • What does it cost if fiber is already installed?

        If you move into a residence (house/apartment/studio/etc.) that is already connected to Varanger KraftFiber, you do not have to pay any fiber installation costs. The only thing you need to do is order services either through:

        • By e-mail at kundeservice@varanger-kraft.no
           
        • By phone at 78962630.

         

      • What does it cost?

      • Can I have the fiber cable placed underground?

        If you don't want the fiber cable to be installed as an aerial cable to the house, you may dig down the fiber cable in a conduit on your property. We will dig up to the property boundary. From the property boundary to the residence, the customer is responsible for burying the fiber conduit, which will be supplied by Varanger KraftFiber.

         

      • What happens after I have placed an order?

        You will first receive an order confirmation with the estimated delivery time.

        The standard delivery time is 4-8 weeks.

        Our fiber technicians will install a fiber cable as an aerial cable along the power line, then route it through your wall and into a connection point inside your home.

        If your power line is placed underground, the fiber will be placed in a conduit on your property, and you must dig the conduit down on your own property.

         

      • Can I be connected to Varanger KraftFiber?

        You can send us an inquiry through our website, call us at 78962630, or e-mail us at kundeservice@varanger-kraftfiber.no.

        If we are unable to offer fiber to your address at the moment, please contact us to discuss future expansion plans.
