How is the fiber connected to the internet?

• The customer PC, wireless router, and fiber modem are all located in the customer’s home.
   
• Varanger KraftFiber provides the fiber connection out to the customer.
   
• Altibox/ElTele supplies internet access to Varanger KraftFiber.
   
• NIX is the traffic exchange point where traffic from our customers meets outbound internet traffic.
   

Comment on the principle sketch:

It is because of NIX that you cannot expect to get the same speed against external speed test services such as nettfart.no or international speed test services. This is because you have no way of knowing what speed you achieve outside your own network and where this traffic is routed. Tips on how to measure your internet speed can be found here.
