Altibox first-time setup with network cable
This is how you set up the Altibox set-top box for the first time when using network cable (ethernet cable).

Step 1: Place the set-top box where you want it
1) Position the set-top box near your TV and close to a connection point for the network cable, fiber modem, or your router.
2) Connect the network cable between the set-top box and the connection point.
3) Plug the set-top box into power using the supplied power adapter. Make sure your TV is also connected to power.
4) Use only the included HDMI cable to connect the set-top box to your TV. If you need a longer cable, it must be a Premium High Speed HDMI cable or better.
Step 2: Connect the Network Cable
If you connect the set-top box directly to the fiber modem, make sure you use the correct port on the back:
- Icotera fiber modem: We advise using port 1, 2, or 3 for the set-top box.
- Zyxel fiber modem: We advise using port 2, 3, or 4 for the set-top box.
Note: This setup requires your fiber modem to be in standard mode (router mode). If the fiber modem is in bridge mode, you must connect the Altibox set-top box directly to one of the ports on your own wireless router.
Step 3: Connect the Altibox set-top box to power
Plug the Altibox set-top box into a power outlet using the supplied power adapter. Make sure your TV is also connected to power.
Step 4: Connect the HDMI Cable
Use only the included HDMI cable to connect the set-top box to your TV. If you need a longer cable, it must be a Premium High Speed HDMI cable or better.
Step 5: Turn on the set-top box
1) Find the Altibox remote control and press the button in the top left corner to turn on the device. Under the front of the set-top box there is a light that indicates whether the box is turned on or off:
- White light: The box is turned ON.
- Blue light: The box is turned OFF (in standby mode).
2) Set your TV to the correct HDMI input and select your language from the onscreen startup menu.

Step 6: Continue or change network
Proceed to the next step if your screen looks like this. If not, go back and check your connection.
Tip: Make sure you hear a little click sound when the network cable plug is inserted.

Step 7: Connect your Google account
Altibox TV Model A is an Android TV based set-top box running on Google’s operating system. This means you can download apps from Google Play and use Google features - but you need to sign in with a Google account.
Don’t have a Google account?
1) If you want to download apps from Google Play and use Google services, select "Sign in". If you don’t want to sign in, skip to step 5 below.

2) If you chose Sign in, you can log in using a computer/mobile or with the remote control. The easiest way is with a mobile or computer. Select "Use remote control" if you prefer entering your Google username and password directly. If you choose this option, skip step 3.

3) Sign in with mobile or computer: Go to androidtv.com/setup and enter the code shown on your TV screen.

Alternatively: Sign in using the remote control.

4) Continue the sign-in process on your other device (mobile/computer).

5) Review the terms and conditions and privacy policy, then accept to use Google services.

6) Choose whether to allow Google to use the geographical location of your set-top box for relevant content inside the Google apps (weather, maps, nearby services) and whether to share anonymous usage data for statistics and improvements.
Note: The next screens on your TV will show "Did you know?" tips and Google Assistant setup. We’ll skip those screens in this guide and jump to the option to name your set-top box. When you reach that screen, click "Next step" here.

Step 8: Choose a Name for Your Altibox TV set-top box
Give your set-top box a relevant name to make it easier to find when casting or connecting from other devices. Use the arrow buttons to highlight the desired name and press "OK" on the remote control.

Step 9: Additional Services
After naming your set-top box, Google will guide you through Android TV features. Press "OK" or the right arrow button on the remote control to move through these screens.
