While Wi-Fi can be very convenient, a network cable will almost always give you the best experience for TV and streaming services, without delays.
Note: If the wireless signal is not optimal, you may experience reduced picture quality and less stability in broadcasts.

Step 1: Place the set-top box where you want it
1) Position the set-top box near your TV and close to a wireless connection point (fiber modem, your router, an access point, etc.).
2) Plug the set-top box into power using the supplied power adapter. Make sure your TV is also connected to power.
3) Use only the included HDMI cable to connect the set-top box to your TV. If you need a longer cable, it must be a Premium High Speed HDMI cable or better.
Step 2: Turn on the set-top box
1) Find the Altibox remote control and press the button in the top left corner to turn on the device. Under the front of the set-top box there is a light that indicates whether the box is turned on or off:
- White light: The box is turned ON.
- Blue light: The box is turned OFF (in standby mode).

2) Set your TV to the correct HDMI input and select your language from the onscreen startup menu.

Step 3: Connect to the Wireless Network
1) Select your wireless network from the list of visible networks on your screen.

2) Enter the password by pressing OK when the correct characters are highlighted on the TV screen. After entering the password, press OK on the ✔ symbol.
Wait while the set-top box connects to the wireless network.

Step 4: Connect your Google account
Altibox TV Model A is an Android TV based set-top box running on Google’s operating system. This means you can download apps from Google Play and use Google features - but you need to sign in with a Google account.
Don’t have a Google account?
1) If you want to download apps from Google Play and use Google services, select "Sign in". If you don’t want to sign in, skip to step 5 below.

2) If you chose Sign in, you can log in using a computer/mobile or with the remote control. The easiest way is with a mobile or computer. Select "Use remote control" if you prefer entering your Google username and password directly. If you choose this option, skip step 3.

3) Sign in with mobile or computer: Connect to the same wireless network as your set-top box and go to https://tv.altibox.no/link. The website will ask you to enter the code displayed on your TV screen.

Alternatively: Sign in using the remote control.

4) Continue the sign-in process on your other device (mobile/computer).

5) Review the terms and conditions and privacy policy, then accept to use Google services.

6) Choose whether to allow Google to use the geographical location of your set-top box for relevant content inside the Google apps (weather, maps, nearby services) and whether to share anonymous usage data for statistics and improvements.

Step 5: Choose a Name for Your Altibox TV set-top box
Give your set-top box a relevant name to make it easier to find when casting or connecting from other devices. Use the arrow buttons to highlight the desired name and press "OK" on the remote control.

Step 6: Additional Services
After naming your set-top box, Google will guide you through Android TV features. Press "OK" or the right arrow button on the remote control to move through these screens.
