Wi-Fi technology keeps improving, but older PCs, mobile phones, or other wireless devices can negatively impact your internet experience. The reason is that outdated equipment cannot keep up with the latest technologies and may interfere with Wi-Fi signals, reducing overall network capacity. The same applies if you have new devices (PC, mobile) but an old Wi-Fi router - you won’t get the full performance your devices are capable of. Whenever possible, connect older equipment using a network cable. For devices that require higher speed and stability, such as desktop computers and TV set-top boxes, we also recommend using a wired connection between the device and the router.

Use a wired connection whenever possible: It’s the most stable and reliable option. Each device connected via cable is one less competing for wireless capacity. If you have a game console or computer that stays in one place and has access to a wired network outlet - use a network cable. For online gaming, this also reduces lag and latency.

Make sure you always have the latest firmware and updates installed on your router, PCs, and other devices: these updates can improve wireless performance and stability, as well as patch security vulnerabilities. More information about updating your devices can be found here.
